About The Red Devils
Each year more than 5,000 Maryland families hear the words "breast cancer." Since 2002 we've made sure money is never the reason one of them stops treatment.
Our mission is to fund services that improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and their families.

Who we are and what we do
We've invested nearly $5 million to support almost 10,000 patients and families so they can start, or stay in, life-saving treatment.
We partner with 31 hospitals and facilities across Maryland. Their medical staff and social workers refer patients to our approved business partners, who provide treatment support at no charge to anyone living or being treated in Maryland.
How help reaches patients
Where our name comes from
"Red devil" is the nickname survivors give the bright red chemotherapy drug so many of them know too well.
We took our name from Katherine Russell Rich's memoir The Red Devil: To Hell with Cancer and Back, a window into the heart of a young woman whose fight with breast cancer was marked by courage, grace and humor. That's the spirit we bring to everything we do.
In memory of Jessica and Ginny
Jessica Cowling founded the Sleepy Badger cookie company during her two-year fight with cancer and spent that time helping other patients through theirs. The Baltimore Sun wrote that she "refused to be defined by her breast cancer."
Ginny Schardt kept teaching at Towson University and Howard Community College through advanced cancer, showing her students what she taught them: you can control your effort, even when you can't control the outcome.
Their warmth, humor and grit are why The Red Devils exists.
